Lilitha & Joshua
There are some weddings that just feel good from the second you arrive. Light everywhere, people smiling, music in the background, glasses clinking, and that unmistakable feeling that everyone is genuinely happy to be there. Lilitha & Josh’s wedding at Zonnevanger was exactly that.
It was the kind of late November day we all know so well in the Cape Winelands — bright, hot, and unapologetically summer. The ceremony took place in the middle of the day with the sun blaring down overhead, filling everything with bold light and warmth. Guests found shade where they could, fans were in full motion, and somehow it all added to the charm of the day. It felt real, relaxed, and beautifully South African.
What stood out most to me was how grounded Lilitha & Josh were in each other. No fuss, no trying too hard, no chasing a “perfect” moment. Just two people fully present and genuinely excited to be getting married. Those are always my favourite weddings to photograph, because nothing needs to be forced.
Lilitha looked incredible — elegant, calm, and completely herself. Josh had that mixture of nerves and excitement that so many grooms try to hide but never really can. The second he saw her, everything softened.
Zonnevanger suited their day so well. It has that beautiful balance of natural space and understated elegance, where the gardens and mountain views frame everything without ever taking attention away from the people in it.
Their family and friends brought so much warmth to the celebration. You could feel that this wasn’t just a wedding people attended — it was a wedding people cared deeply about. Every hug lasted a little longer, every speech landed, every cheer was loud and sincere.
Later, when the light finally began to soften, we stepped away for portraits. After the strong midday sun, the gentler evening light felt like a reward. The gardens glowed, the air settled, and the two of them finally had a quiet moment together to take it all in.
Lilitha & Josh, thank you for trusting me with your memories. Your wedding felt honest, joyful, and full of the kind of love that doesn’t need to announce itself loudly to be deeply felt.
