Lucia | Matric Portraits

I think out of all the shoots I’ve done thus far, this one has got to be the most memorable…

While my husband was putting all my gear into the car for me, I walked out the front door, locked it from the inside. Before I closed the door, I asked my husband if he had the keys – he didn’t answer so I assumed that meant he had taken them. I shut the door and headed towards the car only to find out that he left the keys inside. There we were. Stuck.

After numerous attempts to try override the electric gate manually, we managed to break into our garage with a screwdriver and then broke into the house by breaking a door. I never want to relive that as my stomach felt terrible! I had 10 minutes to get to this shoot and I was almost about to jump over a wall and run there with 12kgs worth of camera’s and lenses!

Anyways, I loved this shoot! Lucia was beautiful in a dress that she designed… The light was still perfect by the time I got there. Phew! I need to cut some spare keys!
